When children eat better, they do consistently better. They are healthier and perform better in class. Working with parents, children and other experts we will build practical, original and persuasive policy for the food our children eat at home, at school and beyond - ahead of the next election

Healthy eating amongst our children is vital both at a macroeconomic level - to help combat the costs of obesity - and at a personal level - for children to fulfil their potential. And yet policy on this topic is fragmented. Calls for a watershed on junk food advertising go unheeded. Calls for a tax on sugar are rebuffed by the power of big business. And whilst food in schools is a high profile issue, the food families cook at home, or eat out, is rarely considered.

We will bring together diverse sources of scientific, popular and public affairs expertise spread across many organisations. Together, we will build a coherent, imaginative and practical "Childrens Food Manifesto" for food eaten at home, at school/early years and beyond. The Manifesto will influence all political parties to create considered policy to have the greatest impact on childrens' diet and nutritional health - and for the next government to implement these evidence based policies
