Meningitis strikes without warning & progresses at an alarming rate, leaving no time to prepare financially for life post the disease. Being unable to provide a child with the latest therapies to help them walk again, having a house that is unsuitable for a wheelchair or being unable to afford a headstone after the loss of a loved one are just some of the problems people face after meningitis. Lack of finances can hinder recovery & adds extra pressure to families who are at their most vulnerable
Solution
Our financial support grants provide the funds to solve the practical problems meningitis brings upon people and their families. If a child is struggling to hear with conventional hearing aids, we will pay for the fitting of cochlear implants, if a mother is struggling with a child that now needs 24 hour care we will pay for respite to give her a much needed rest.
