Ebola has killed over 6,000 West African people in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Mali. It is devastating lives, families and national infrastructure. According to the World Health Organisation’s most recent Ebola Situation Report, the numbers continue to rise, with 19,497 reported Ebola cases and 7,588 deaths. IMC UK ARE RESPONDING

Getting Ebola under control in West Africa will require a sustained investment of time and resources. IMC UK run a response of 4 elements: Treatment centres - to isolate the infected and treat those recovering. Training - to ensure that health workers are protected from contracting the disease, a circumstance which has ended many lives in the recent future. Mobile response teams - to support new Ebola centres that are opening. Community outreach - to educate about the dangers.
