RBW Over50s/Senior Citizen workshop participants (library and online) will jointly write a farce called FARE DEAL. When the story is written (up to 200 A5 pages) a book will be produced and the story will be recorded as audio tracks suitable for download from websites and for radio broadcasting.

Situation
RBW participants are - over 50 and up to mid 90s - often participants are on low income/disabled/suffering from mental illness/physical disability/some are terminal/some are dyslexic/Carers who are housebound/visually or hearing challenged/some have head injuries/some are recommended by disability support groups. These folks are 'left behind' when it comes to affordable creative arts opportunities. There are around 35 online contributors listed with RBW at present. All RBW workshops are FREE of charge. Project Goals: 1) to choose the subject and plot the story 2) to write the story week by week in 500 word chunks making it as chaotic and funny as possible 3) to edit the story and DTP a book 4) to proof the story (always hard to do) 5) to publish the book 6) to record the story as 30 or more audio tracks (this is very time consuming as to produce two hours of high quality audio story can take months to record and sound edit) 6) to upload tracks on to RBW websites 7) to professionally produce an audio CD 8) to launch the book and DVD 9) to donate the book and CD to libraries/local radio stations (hospital and national prison) and to the local talking newspaper for the blind. (Listeners = 600 local blind - prison radio is national - at least 20% of patients in two local hospitals - plus free website downloads) Finance: This project will cost around £5,000 - which includes publishing and CD production and online broadband costs for workshops/insurance/hosting websites. It is so cheap because RBW is a voluntary charitable trust so only actual production costs are being requested.
