Situation

Presently this (often) marginalised and impoverished group are overlooked, and the causes of their disadvantage and discrimnation faced are not understood or addresses, Many clients tell us that they face racism, prejudice and discrimination in their daily lives, and subsequetly suffer from isolation, poor health and well being, exclusion, lack of self esteem/confidence, aniexty and depression.

Solution

Many BME clients have told us that PDREC’s interventions have saved their lives, by enabling families to stay together, maintain housing, alleviating depression and anxiety, exploring their identity and heritage, making difficult decisions e.g. to leave an abusive partner, reporting hate crime and complaints to authorities. Tackling racism and injustice, by providing opportunities for participation by very excluded and vulnerable local residents, along with awarness raising and education.
