The young people we work with experience many challenges in accessing theatre-based activities that provide them with strong creative skills and assists them with their vocational studies. StoneCrabs Theatre is the only company in North Lewisham to provide a programme that is free and therefore, accessible to many of its young people. Curricular supporting activities are often difficult due to financial constraints and most activities have short or no longevity.

The programme provides young people with practical opportunities for personal and professional development. They are exposed to a network with active professional in the performing arts, providing them with business and creative mentoring and a space where they can test their business & creative ideas. Previous participants have gone to become Assistant Directors for Theatres for Theatres such as The National Theatre, Royal Court, Young Vic; Oval House and some have set up their own companies
