Situation
According to the UN, nearly 19 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance and 10.3 million of which are in acute need. Famine is a possibility for millions and treatable diseases are putting children, the chronically ill, the elderly and disabled, and pregnant and lactating mothers at particularly high risk of starvation and sickness.
Solution
The IRC first began assisting people in Yemen in 2012 and continues to this day. We provide health, nutrition, water, hygiene, and sanitation services to more than a quarter-million people; delivering essential drugs and medical supplies to hospitals; and calling on the international community to help achieve a lasting peace.
