At present these two communities have no access to a reliable water source. Women and children have to walk many kms to buy or collect water from seasonal wells or the riverbed. The nearest Health Care Clinic is 25 kms away. These two factors alone lead to a poor level of general health and well-being. There is a specific need to improve the existing facilities for 130 children in early years education, at present housed in mud & thatch structures with earth floors - and no proper toilets

This will be achieved by the construction of two earth catchment dams to store surface run offs during heavy rains. The construction of a small clinic to serve both communities and two new classrooms with toilets at Twikoli & Wikimuu Nursery Schools. These classrooms will also be used as meeting rooms by the communities to form Women's Groups to assist with training in Sanitation and Health Education. This will lead to a healthier and more productive community.
