In May 2018 Mousetrap Theatre Projects reaches its 21st Anniversary and over the year we will be celebrating this milestone, running a number of special initiatives and events for disadvantaged young people and their families.
Situation
Many children and young people, never get to have the incredible experience that is live theatre. For many families and youth groups, the cost of a London theatre trip is prohibitive, plus there are deep-seated social/cultural barriers, which make them think theatre is not for 'people like us'. School budget cuts, curriculum pressures and the EBACC's exclusion of arts subjects mean performing arts, enhancement activities and trips during school hours are under threat.
Solution
We provide top quality cultural outings at an affordable price, only £5-10 per ticket, far less than most theatres’ group rates. We offer musicals, classic plays and contemporary drama, giving access to a huge range of theatre across London. We provide supporting resources, talks, education projects and drama workshops, designed to support and extend the classroom learning experience, develop skills, raise aspirations, increase confidence and broaden horizons.
