To construct a school building for 514 girls, who currently study outside on the dusty earth in all extremes of weather. A school construction will create a safe environment for these marginalized girls, giving both them and their teachers a secure place to study in peace and with purpose.
In this remote district, there is little in the way of school infrastructure. Education is limited and many villages have barely any access to education at all. 50% of villages have no school and 50% of schools have no building. This is a particular problem for girls. This school construction is part of our bigger idea to support access to education for all children in this district. Almost every adult woman and many men are illiterate but they are determined their children will be educated.
Construction of a school building will transform the working environment for pupils and teachers. There will be also be latrines, a well and a surrounding wall for privacy. These facilities will give parents more confidence to send their daughters to school and older girls are more likely to stay in education if there is a secure environment.
