In a survey of 1,000 people we discovered that people believe that modern lifestyles mean that the younger generation often have little connection to nature. Over half of British parents say their children are spending less than one hour outside a day, despite 82% believing it important that they do so. 8/10 parents believe it important for their child to spend time outside and over a third said their children’s well-being and education would benefit from more learning outside the classroom.

Nature is good for children and children can be good for nature if they learn to love and protect it. Discover Earth is a full school day of sessions and interactive outdoor science sessions, empowering students to help tackle global issues. Our interactive science is compatible with the curriculum, and we provide ongoing support and resources for teachers giving them the skills to take more lessons outside.
