To provide a free advice and support service for the 300,000 grandparents and other kinship carers in the UK who are looking after children because their parents are unable to.

Around 300,000 kinship carers are looking after 200,000 children because their parents are unable to, often due to parental drug and alcohol misuse, domestic violence, death or imprisonment. Many children in kinship care have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect. Around half have special needs. In England three times the number of children are growing up in kinship care than foster care. They have similar experiences, yet kinship children – and their carers - receive little or no support.
