Christmas is one of the most important times when families meet up and spend precious time together. This project is to fund specialist at home palliative nursing care for adults 24 hours a day for the 12 days of Christmas.
Our nurses provide specialist care to patients of all ages diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses either in their homes or at our day hospice. At Christmas families are desperate to avoid any unnecessary hospital admissions and being able to stay at home with their family is priceless.
By having a 24 hour nursing service available for adults during the Christmas period, our nurses can bring symptoms under control as soon as they occur. This is particularly important during the holiday season when it is harder to access other healthcare services.
