Situation
Over the last ten years more than 450 people have been killed on the roads Hertfordshire. The emotional and practical needs of road victims are similar to victims of murder or manslaughter. If unsupported road victims can suffer long-term problems including, ill-health, anxiety, depression, stress disorders and other persistent metal health problems.
Solution
The project addresses the lack of support to road victims in Hertfordshire. By providing free emotional and practical support, through professional Coordinators and specialist trained Counselling Volunteers, road victim beneficiaries will experience improved well-being and reduced psychological problems. Our Trust has 15 years experience of meeting the complex needs of victims in Bedfordshire and at the request of bereaved families we wish to extend the service into Hertfordshire.
