The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust supports local cancer and leukaemia services to improve cancer care for our most vulnerable children. We provide a range of support services for capital projects, equipment, training, additional medical staff and family support groups.

    Situation

    Over 4,500 children diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year and the impact is of this cruel illness is devastating for the child, the families and their wider networks of loved ones and friends across the community. The dedication and commitment of the NHS paediatric oncology services is tireless but resourcing constraints mean the needs of these vulnerable communities may not be fully met by statutory provision and extend beyond clinical care and treatment.

    We fund and deliver a wide portfolio of children’s Cancer care interventions ranging from: ● Refurbishments and capital development projects ● Funding for staffing in Paediatric Oncology Care Units and Wards ● Patient and Family Meet-ups and Childhood Cancer Support Groups ● Funding therapeutic resources, equipment, activities for in-patients ● Providing cutting edge remote education technology to patients ● Financing an oncology holiday home ● Providing vital financial assistance to families
