Westminster Cathedral's main sanctuary and nave are lit by two lighting systems. There are the original listed electric candelabras, now utilising energy saving light bulbs. The flood lighting and additional lighting system needs complete replacement.

Situation
Westminster Cathedral's main sanctuary and nave's flood lighting and additional lighting systems are obsolete, inefficient using 20th century high energy bulbs and prone to failure due to the age of the wiring and control systems. The Cathedral is used by a congregation of 3,000, it is visited by tens of thousands of different visitors each year, it provides concerts and carol services to the wider community and online services to housebound people. All of this depends on good lighting.
Solution
The old floodlighting and additional lighting systems cannot be improved or modernised being based on completely outdated technology. The solution is to completely remove the present system and replace it with a modern energy efficient system designed not only to support lighting for those present in the Cathedral but also for the live streaming of events.
