    Situation

Socially excluded young people in London face deeply entrenched barriers to education and quality employment. Because of these barriers, disadvantaged young people are 50% more likely to be unemployed than more advantaged peers with identical qualifications. At City Gateway, we believe all young people deserve the chance to achieve their ambitions and be the author of their own success story.

    Solution

Because we know qualifications are only half the story, we will provide wrap-around one-to-one coaching to 200 young people on our national benchmark-beating education and training programme. Coaching offers a safe, supportive space for young people to talk through issues in their personal lives, overcome barriers, develop core personal capabilities like confidence, resilience and self-awareness and provides tailored progression and job search support – all to help learners secure employment.
