The transition from child to adult is a challenge, but now young people face additional pressures. Serious violence, social media influence, an economic downturn and a global pandemic. The resulting decline in mental health has led to an increased need for our service and need for funding.

Even before Covid-19, disturbing trends in mental health were emerging across England. Growing child poverty, homelessness and food poverty have all contributed to an unprecedented rise in mental health problems. A staggering 1 in 6 children had a probable mental health condition in 2021, up from one in nine in 2017. Additionally, 39.2% of six to 16-yearolds said they felt their mental health had become worse over this period.

Our Early Intervention Team provides a range of support across Norfolk to help tackle this problem. This support includes: - One-to-one outreach support:by providing the foundation for improved emotional resilience as well as boosting self-esteem, this approach gives young people agency and improves their abilities to manage problems. - School-based workshops: these focus on wellbeing, mindfulness techniques, healthy choices, building resilience and goal setting. - Online parent/carer support
