In2Out offers support to young people aged 15-21 leaving prison and returning to communities across the North of England and, increasingly, the Midlands. Our mentoring support helps participants navigate life 'on the out', envisage a different future and break the cycle of reoffending.

Young people in custody are some of the most vulnerable in society, with many having suffered deprivation, childhood abuse or neglect, and/or mental health issues. The challenges facing them on leaving custody are significant and can be complex, especially as they often return to chaotic lifestyles and fractured family structures, lacking experience and people around them to support and guide them. Nationally, on average, 65% of 15-18 years old reoffend within 12 months of leaving custody.

In2Out Mentors provide consistent, committed support, building relationships of trust and helping with *basic life skills, *accessing care packages and statutory assistance, *finding employment, education or training opportunities, *developing social skills and engaging in new social opportunities, *developing consequential thinking, managing triggers to offending behaviour and building resilience. We believe the future is one of hope rather than a lifestyle of crime and personal crisis.
