ClearVision lets families with blind and sighted members share stories by adapting regular children’s books to include both print & braille. This helps children learn to read and families enjoy the delight of reading together. We run a free postal lending library to families & schools across the UK.

Situation
Children's books are either print with pictures OR braille, there's nothing commercially published which has both. This means that children learning braille can't be helped to learn to read by sighted family and teachers or share books in class with sighted friends. It also means blind, braille-reading parents and grandparents can't share stories with sighted children, including helping them with literacy or homework, or share bedtime stories, one of the great pleasures of childhood.
Solution
Our library adds braille to conventional children's books meaning that print, pictures and braille are all there on the page, and loans the books through a postal lending library to families, schools, nurseries and Sensory Support Services across the UK and Ireland. This lets braille reading children get the support they need to achieve in education and maximise their opportunities in life. It also lets blind parents and grandparents read with their sighted children. Simple but perfect!
