We want to organise social activities for women and their children, introduce them to the social care and health systems in the UK, the cultural heritage of our capital, etc. We want for these women to feel welcome and supported in London so they are empowered to rebuild their lives.

There are about 600 recently arrived Afghan families in Westminister. MEWSo works with these women to settle in London. We support them with welfare and housing advice, immigration issues, as well as providing domestic abuse advocacy. These families live in overcrowded conditions and are disconnected from the society due to cultural and language barriers, lack of income and cultural understanding. The majority experience anxiety, depression or other forms of mental health issues.

We will organise: - 12 social activities, such as walks through Westminister, introducing historic sites, take women for picnics at local parks, etc. - 8 workshops to introduce them to the British social and healthcare systems, family law, human rights, support women sign up for GPs, schools, etc. We have pro-bono solicitor ready to deliver some sessions - 24 conversational English classes so women become more confident in communicating in the society - assign befriends to 10 women
