Coming from poverty and disadvantage makes it much harder for a young person to achieve their potential. Low attainment and poverty can trap young people in a vicious cycle. Whilst almost every young person has had to adjust to dramatic changes in their home life, education and routine, for those who were already marginalised, the challenges of the pandemic have often been greater. Without action this threatens to deepen inequality and means many young people won't achieve their life potential.

Our mentoring works to change lives, giving disadvantaged young people aged 9-18 long-term support to improve their academic attainment, character, confidence and behaviour. Our programmes have a layered approach to supporting young people to develop key skills and strengths. We work closely with schools to identify those who will most benefit from weekly one-to-one mentoring with a trained, adult mentor and participation our carefully facilitated programme of group activities over the year.
