We’re raising money to support talented young musicians from low-income families so they can fulfil their musical potential. We support young people across the UK by providing funding, musical development opportunities and bespoke, individual support for each young person’s musical progression.

Situation
Musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t. Young musicians from low-income families face significant barriers to learning and continuing music, creating an almost insurmountable opportunity gap. The Sutton Trust’s November 2024 report, A Class Act, said that top selling professional musicians were six times as likely to have attended private school, whereas 42% of state-funded schools in England no longer enter any pupils for Music GCSE (Cultural Learning Alliance, 2024).
Solution
We work with the young musicians themselves, their families, music educators and our partners to support their musical development. We provide flexible funding which allows young people to choose what they need most to progress and expand their musical knowledge – whether it’s tuition, courses, exam fees, audition fees, concert tickets, instruments and accessories or equipment – they can take the lead in their own musical journey.
