We want to share live music with people who are seriously ill in hospitals and hospices. Why? Because we know that live music heals. It helps people feel less anxious and more connected to those around them. Your support will improve people’s quality of life, and health outcomes.

Situation
Life with a serious illness can be frightening, exhausting and lonely. The experience can be physically and emotionally traumatic, both for the person who is unwell, and for their loved ones, carers, and health and care staff. Live music has been shown to significantly improve the health and wellbeing of people who are seriously ill, and yet very few hospitals and hospices currently provide live music due to lack of staff capacity, budgets, and a focus on clinical treatments.
Solution
We will share live music with 450 people who are seriously ill across the UK. This will include children and adults in intensive care, in hospices, and those receiving treatment such as dialysis or chemotherapy. Our professional musicians will share music on wards and by people’s bedsides. They will tailor their delivery to the needs and tastes of every individual, and in doing so create meaningful connections with patients, loved ones and staff during what can be a very traumatic time.
