    Situation

Alleviating the trauma caused by experiencing or witnessing domestic abuse as a child or young person, and the ensuing mental health challenges. Children who have adverse childhood experiences are vulnerable and go on to lead challenging lives with poor mental wellbeing, lack of self esteem and resilience. They often have a lack of trust, misplaced anger, feel unheard and engage in harmful practices. Isolation and lack of educational achievement are common in his group of young people.

    Solution

.By providing a full wrap around therapeutic service with trained professionals. This will include not only the therapeutic interventions but offer choice in which therapy is meaningful for the young person. This is supported by a named caseworker and is not time limited allowing the young person to work at their own pace. There are interventions included for parent(s) together with their child to prevent 'silo' working where an intervention is for a short time and separate from family.
