Oracle Cancer Trust is the leading Head and Neck cancer charity in the UK, our vision is to ensure everyone has the best chance of surviving Head and Neck cancers. We are facing a crisis in Head and Neck Cancer in the UK, and this project will ensure support is more accessible for all patients.

Situation
The incidence of Head and Neck cancers are increasing; around 12,400 people are diagnosed with a Head and Neck cancer each year in the UK. This figure represents a 33% rise in incidence since the early 1990s. Unfortunately, the rise in numbers is accompanied by growing levels of late-stage diagnoses, low public awareness and poor rates of mortality. Stage of disease at diagnosis and treatment approach are the two key factors contributing to survival rates and quality of life outcomes.
Solution
Support, promote and encourage more focus and understanding on the patient experience within Head & Neck cancers. Funding: - projects focusing on better understanding Head and Neck cancer patients of all backgrounds and what barriers exist; such as exploring the language used in Head and Neck cancers and supporting our groundbreaking national PPI group - projects that improve support for all Head and Neck cancer patients pre, during and post treatment
