Musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t. With your help, we can change this. We're raising money to support 300 young musicians from low income families through our Awards programme - providing financial support and inspirational music opportunities. Will you help us give talent a chance?

    Situation

The biggest obstacle many young musicians face is lack of money. They have the determination, talent and passion. But the costs quickly add up - whether it's instrument hire, equipment costs, exams fees, auditions, or simply the train fare to get to lessons. For many families who are already struggling, these costs become too much. Young people are forced to stop playing and give up what they love because they can't afford to continue. Too much talent is lost. We’re determined to change this.

    Solution

Our Awards programme supports young musicians from low income families. We offer flexible funding for young musicians to use towards their costs (e.g. for instruments, travel or wherever they have most need). We also provide mentoring, skills workshops, career development and a range of opportunities. It's open to all genres and means tested, so young people get the right level of support. In 2022, the average household income of Award winners was £17,100 - evidencing the need for our help.
