Last year we planted more than 4,000 trees and alot of them need replacing as they died in the drought. Young trees and other woodlands in our care need help if they are to grow old and healthy so that they can soak up carbon from the atmosphere, support wildlife and bring joy to people.

Some of the 4000 new trees planted last year haven't survived due to drought. This has resulted in a loss of wildlife habitat and resulting biodiversity. We need to assess the level of loss, order replacements, promote volunteer workdays to plant new trees and tell people how they can get involved with nature recovery to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Existing woodlands also need protecting and managing so that they continue to grow into healthy woods and hedges.

CPPF care for green spaces, improve landscapes and habitats, offer volunteering opportunities on the sites in its care. We are planting trees and restoring woods around Cambridge to combat climate change, increase wildlife habitat, improve air quality and give people access to nature and green spaces. We will replace over 500 dead treelings, care for young trees, restore a woodland, extend the life of old trees and we will involve the community in all this work.
