Most of our older clients have long term illnesses, disabilities or mental health needs with a diagnosis of dementia. In most cases their carers carry sole responsibility for their care, bringing tough physical and mental challenges. Homelink is a charity dedicated to the wellbeing of older people and their unpaid carers. We believe everyone should be able to live a meaningful life in which they feel engaged, purposeful, and connected within their community. This is what we hope to achieve.
Homelink provides key services for older people: • A purpose-built day care centre offering a range of personalised activities and a home cooked meal • Direct support for carers, including fortnightly support groups, regular meetings, information, one-to-one advice, informal emotional support, social activities, signposting and practical support. • Social activities for carers and cared-for. Examples include coffee mornings, boat and garden centre trips, supper club and supervised walks.
