Refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK are facing increasing challenges and hostility—many are shut out of work and education, housed in unsafe accommodation, and targeted by divisive rhetoric and cruel laws. They are often isolated from community life and lack the connections and support they need to rebuild their lives. At the same time, many young people want to take meaningful action but don’t know how. Together, we can make a difference.

STAR is a national movement, empowering students across the UK to stand in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary and challenge the injustices they face. Through our network of more than 2,000 activists and volunteers, we will provide practical support in local community projects, campaign for change, educate the public and work to build a society where those seeking sanctuary are truly welcomed and given the opportunity to thrive.
