Surround Sound Playlist is an immersive, spectacular and relaxed concert experience, showcasing the breadth of classical music and the role of communities in shaping culture. Britten Sinfonia will co-create new works with young people and leisure-time groups in Lincoln, Peterborough, Ely & Norwich.

• Communities in the East of England have limited access to high-quality classical music, especially those in secondary cities and in more rural areas. • Investment in leisure-time ensembles has historically been low, limiting their ability to actively shape arts and culture within their communities. • Young people in the region have especially limited access to cultural opportunities and their needs are generally less well considered in classical concert programming.
Surround Sound Playlist is an immersive and relaxed concert format, which we will bring to Lincoln, Peterborough, Ely and Norwich. Britten Sinfonia and guest artists will perform from various stages to audiences in relaxed seating, alongside leisure-time choirs and young people from the local area. We will work collaboratively with these groups to shape the concert experience and co-create new works as part of the programme. Audiences will benefit from a ‘Pay What You Can’ pricing model.
