Every year, thousands of young adults aged 16 to 40 across the UK are newly diagnosed with a life-threatening, incurable illness. The impact of this diagnosis and subsequent treatment would be devastating at any age, but this is elevated when it comes at a time that should be all about living life to the fullest. Upon diagnosis, life is abruptly interrupted, and young adults who should be making plans for the future must instead focus their energy on hospital appointments and treatment plans.
We support young individuals and families in ways that medical care alone cannot. Our Special Days are bespoke and created to fulfil the needs and wishes of each beneficiary. They support both the emotional and psychological impact of having a life-threatening illness. For those facing limited time, a Special Day offers the opportunity to create lasting, meaningful memories, allowing them to focus on the joy, smiles and warmth that being with their loved ones provides.
