Globally, girls are subject to innumerable barriers in life just because of their gender. They are denied education, rights and agency. In India and Bangladesh, we support adolescent girls to claim their rights, delay early marriage, and lead change by building the skills to shift social norms.

In rural India and Bangladesh, adolescent girls face intense pressure to marry early, leading many to drop out of school and lose access to education and vital health information. They are often excluded from family and community decision-making, limiting their future opportunities. Families frequently view child marriage as a way to reduce economic burdens, but this practice traps girls and their communities in ongoing cycles of poverty, hunger, gender inequality, and diminished agency.
We partner with adolescent girls to build confidence, skills, and rights awareness, providing information and resources that foster a mindset of equality and aspiration. Working closely with parents and schools, we promote keeping girls in education. Community support networks are created to report and prevent forced early marriages, one of the most effective ways to combat poverty. Local leaders and families are mobilised to ensure safe environments where girls can thrive and lead change.
