We are living through a crisis in connection, increasingly disconnected from ourselves, one another and the living word. As this separation continues, the decimation of environments and species is vast. Since 1990, 420 million hectares of forest has been destroyed and 2024 marked the first time that global warming has exceeded 1.5C across an entire year. Human beings have an innate need for connection and without this, the consequences are far reaching and devastating.
Complicité has always centered human connection and we don't intend to stop now, when creating moments for shared human experience has never been more necessary. We give people the power to connect through art, but that also requires taking risks. We will use this funding to create a unique fund, that will enable us to create our next response to this crisis of connection, and take a stand against the growing isolationism that is infecting our world.
