Every woman we meet street sex-working faces a unique combination of challenges: violence (86%), homelessness (95%), addiction (84%), poverty (100%), mental ill health (76%). But they all face similar barriers to accessing help: from stigma about sex working to services that struggle to address multiple needs and can unwittingly reinforce trauma. These women need compassionate, joined-up care - and existing systems need to change so fewer women face difficulties getting help in the future.
One25 provides tailored, long-term support for women who street sex work. Our three services – night outreach, afternoon health hub and specialist casework – help women be safer and healthier and connect to other services. Our advocacy raises awareness of the challenges women face and how services could better support them. This includes collaborating with other agencies to deliver the first women’s homelessness census in Bristol and providing training in working with women who street sex work.
