In Cambodia, access to education has improved, but the quality of education remains critically low—especially in rural areas. In 2022, Cambodia ranked last out of 81 countries in reading and maths assessments. In Oddar Meanchey, many adults have completed only four years of school. Parents often migrate to Thailand for work, leaving children with grandparents who lack formal education. As a result, rural children are falling behind, lacking the essential foundations they need to thrive.

Your donation will unlock quality education for 1,819 children across 15 primary schools in rural northwest Cambodia. Teachers will receive specialised training, classroom resources, and mentoring to improve the quality of their teaching. School leaders will be trained in effective leadership to instil a growth mindset and drive positive change in their schools. These efforts will enhance classroom practices, strengthen the school culture, and build strong foundations for children to thrive.
