Since 1992, Rethink’s Advice and Information Service (RAIS) has given people affected by mental illness personalised, practical advice via our website, phone and webchat. With growing demand and limited support from other services, RAIS is needed more than ever. Please help us raise for RAIS!

Access to high-quality mental health information is vital to effective care. But with services like the NHS being overstretched, there are long wait times, staff shortages, unequal access, and a growing risk of vulnerable people being left to cope alone. This can lead to people becoming more unwell, needing more urgent or costly treatment, or put huge strain on carers. In fact, a 2024 survey found 80% of people’s mental health worsened while waiting for support. We want to help stop this cycle.

When facing a challenge, people need clear, reliable advice. Last year, on average our info pages were viewed over 4,400 times daily and we received over 50 calls or webchats daily. With more funding, we want to offer 24/7 website and chatbot support, answer more calls and webchats, and better reach underserved communities. We want to be there for everyone, from diagnosis and treatment to carers’ rights, we’ll improve access to vital mental health information and help people improve their lives.
