Childhood should never be shadowed by fear and pain. Yet many refugee children who have experienced or witnessed torture are faced with this dark reality. This Christmas, you can help children heal from their trauma, rediscover childhood joy and reclaim their future.

No one should ever experience torture, especially children. Despite being illegal under international law, too many children are affected by torture around the world. Instead of playing and learning, children who have experienced torture live with deep trauma. After fleeing to safety in the UK, these children and their families face hostility and struggle. With the NHS unable to meet their unique needs, these children need specialist support to heal and reclaim their stolen childhood.

We believe children who have endured torture deserve the kindness and care they need to heal. For nearly 40 years, Freedom from Torture has provided expert therapy for young torture survivors who have experienced the worst of humanity. Our specialised teams of clinicians work tirelessly to provide the holistic care that these children and their families need to thrive. This Christmas, your gift can help young survivors live for the future, not in the pain of the past.
