Funding cuts have severely reduced accommodation options for homeless young people in the West Midlands, creating a significant rise in youth homelessness (Centrepoint 2023). Wyre Forest Council's withdrawal of Young People Pathway Workers left only 37% of homeless youths last year receiving support. Children's Services can't commission emergency housing, increasing Nightstop referrals. Without support, young people may face homelessness, school expulsion, and involvement in crime.

In the face of these challenges, we support homeless young people with overnight stays in volunteer host homes, keeping them safe while they find longer-term accommodation, improving their emotional wellbeing, and helping them feel more positive about the future. Through mediation and school programs, we've widened our services to include early intervention to prevent homelessness, helping resolve difficulties before they reach crisis point and empowering them to improve their skills.
