Situation
London is experiencing a housing crisis. Families with babies and young children are living in temporary accommodation, a stressful situation, often suffering from isolation and loneliness with little opportunity for community interaction and support. Young children, already living in a heightened stressful environment, often miss out on early development opportunities. We create community for the women, strengthen their resilience, provide developmentally appropriate activities for the young
Solution
The Family Support Team know if we create safe, caring and supportive environments for families, children will benefit as parents are bolstered by peer support, connections to community resources and experiences that build confidence and agency. Our approach is multi-pronged, providing Family to Family, Parent and Child, and Holistic Support programming to families who face significant socio-economic challenges. The range of offerings is responsive to families’ needs and aspirations.
