    Situation

“I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of three in 1990 and have had no psychological support.” Life with type 1 diabetes can be isolating and frustrating. Unrealistic targets and the constant monitoring of blood sugar levels can make managing type 1 stressful and overwhelming. This is the reality for 400,000 people across the UK. Without the right support, type 1 diabetes can take a serious toll on your mental health. We want people to know they are not alone and support is available.

    Solution

We need your help to raise awareness so people living with type 1 diabetes can access the mental health support they need to live well. Your donation will also provide vital information and and a positive peer-support network, so people living with type 1 diabetes feel less anxious or isolated. Together, we can help people gain the confidence to speak up about the impact of type 1 diabetes on their mental health, empowering them to face the emotional ups and downs that type 1 can bring.
