As Doncaster's largest theatre, Cast is a welcome space for our community. Our work enriches lives and inspires the people of Doncaster, contributing to vibrant and creative communities. In these difficult times, we need support to continue this work and provide a cultural hub for those who need it.

Doncaster is the UK’s largest borough with a population of approximately 310,000. It has multiple indicators of deprivation and is the seventh lowest Borough in terms of engagement with the arts. 21.7% of Doncaster residents have some form of disability compared to 17.9% nationally, and household incomes are 20% below the UK average. Doncaster also has very low rates of social mobility, ranking 298 out of 324 local authorities. Too few people in our community have an entry point into the arts.

Cast's aim is to enrich the creative and cultural lives of our communities through high–quality and engaging artistic experiences. We create and present stories that reflect our communities, and we strive to be a home for local talent and a resource and support for early career artists. We want to provide inspiring and welcoming participatory experiences, fostering creativity and building communities along the way. We want to open doors to our community and be their introduction to the arts.
