Situation
Student nurses in African colleges rarely have enough textbooks to study from. Often, for an intake of 50 or 100 students, there will be only 3 textbooks available, which generally stay with the tutors. The few textbooks are often out of date and not relevant to the conditions - lack of resources - the students will face when they leave college.
Solution
Under this programme, TALC sends new textbooks out to nurse training colleges, enough for one textbook between two students. This makes a significant difference to the studies of the students, as they are not having to rely on memorising tutors' notes they had to copy down from the blackboard.
