Camp Jojo supports families of children with complex disabilities, many of whom have life-limiting conditions, to enjoy a totally accessible outdoor camping experience and make special memories. We provide all of the specialist equipment and volunteer support needed to make this a reality.

Situation
Participating in outdoor activities and camping is very difficult for children with complex needs – the equipment, costs and logistics can be overwhelming. Also, the care of the disabled child can be all-consuming, leaving little time for siblings. These obstacles can appear insurmountable, meaning many families do not even attempt to plan an adventure together and therefore they miss out on experiences other families and friends take for granted and increasing the sense of isolation.
Solution
Our 3 day camps are fully-inclusive events for 8 families at a time. Support from our large group of volunteers (30 per camp) means that parents and children can be freed up to develop new friendships, make special memories as a family and try things they never thought possible. It also increases opportunities for strong peer support networks to flourish. Tailored support is available to each family, as well as accessible site equipment, catering and fun activities for everyone.
